Name: Willow Breed: Paint horse (Quarter Horse with white markings) Gender: Mare (female) Age: Ancient (classified/unknown) Image: xXx Physical Description: Willow has hoofs that are firmly larger than most, but not exceptionally so. She has strong legs, with her kees, ankle, and shoulder all in alingment. Her well-muscled but lean neck slopes lightly back to a high shoulder. Her back and barrel are slightly larger just behind the front legs, and then taper softly until it is barely thinner at her flank. She has magnificent strong hindquarters that are high, but just barely lower than the shoulder. Her head is large, kind, and intelligent, with a large jaw and a straight muzzle. Her mane is short, only about 6-8 inches. Her forelock is long but thin. Her tail consists of three colors; sorrell at the top (same as her coat color) black just above her hock down, and underneath the black lies light white hairs. Markings: Willow has a 'bald face,' or a completely white face. It surrounds one eye completely, and comes half-way to the other. She has three white stockings that come about 6-12 inches below her hock, and 12-18 inches below her knee. Her front left leg is the only solid one. She also has a white patch on her belly, about 3 inches in diameter, and a small white spot on her left shoulder, only and inch or less in diameter. (no gray spots, swayed back, or other signs of aging. Looks young.) Colors: Sorrel Personality: Willow is generally calm. She is wise and understanding, and is always kind. She has an aura about her that demands respect while also emanating peace and calm. She takes to the needy, abandoned, young, and old best, always tending to them carefully. But she is also very understanding and kind to the healthy, strong, and fortunate as well. History: It has never been recorded when Willow first appeared in the land, but she has always been a figurehead of command. She has always been counselled with when a leader faces a challenge that they cannot overcome themselves. She watches over the bachelor herds, as well as the mating and birthing grounds. She has her own herd, mainly consisiting of outcasts or those who left their herds for various reasons. She has made a tradition to hold a challenge of sorts at various places throughout the region. It is said that if she sees a stallin who competes that she thinks is worthy, she will bear him a foal, and will let the foal go to his father's herd when he/she is six months old, the proper weaning age. Although this competition has been a yearly affair, there has never appeared to be a stallion that Willow has approved of. However, there are many times when Willow will be seen with a foal by her side, but she never discloses who the father of the foal is.
The day that Prize was born was the best day of my life. But now he tries to kick my face.
